For more than 25 years, I have worked at the intersection of research administration, research finance, federal compliance, business optimization, process reengineering, technology transformation, and institutional strategy. This broad experience has given me a unique perspective on how research organizations operate and where institutional friction most often emerges.
What I've learned is that most organizational challenges are not caused by any one department. They occur at the intersections between departments, where responsibilities overlap, communication breaks down, processes become fragmented, and competing priorities create unnecessary complexity.
Researchers experience these challenges as administrative burden, delays, and obstacles to innovation.
